Shelly  Louis is a certified international DONA, Birth & Postpartum Doula, Lactation, Placenta Encapsulation Specialist and Child Educator, as well as a mentor to other Doulas, that not only speaks English but can Read, speak and write in Hebrew , Creole and French.

         In addition, prenatal birth to her credentials and extensive childbirth experience, everything about postpartum doulas began during her upbringing. Although she is from a different congregation, she became involved after seeing her parents perform doula practice within the Haitian Ministry. Growing up in an orthodox Haitian community has shaped her mental understanding on ways to prevent postpartum. Also, being a part of a Jewish community teaches a deeper understanding on the development of childbirth that surpasses surface level teaching on carrying and the delivery of a child. In a Jewish community they highlight the importance being delicate and honorable too prenatal, birth and postpartum and its high value  of wisdom while also keeping her traditional religious beliefs. Shelly is Haitian, Jewish cultured women that  aims to implement her culture in areas she seen  lacked not only during her third pregnancy but certain services she or other doulas were not providing throughout her doula career that mothers needed in the families homes that transformed into ptsd being attached to the thought of pregnancy and birth. as to why she believes as a mother she can not only speak from experience but be a walking asset  taking everything she has learned in her lifetime was overlooked that was causing postpartum depressed and ptsd to share with all mothers  to break free from that cycle and bring back that light that was once dim  in the community.
